Engineering Career Fairs
Our Engineering Career Fairs are held every semester and are open to all majors, though tailored to engineering and technology fields. These events provide a direct channel for students to network with employers offering internships, co-ops, and full-time positions. Employers from various sectors like software, electronics, health, construction, telecommunications, mechanical, energy, and civil attend to recruit talent specifically trained in engineering problem-solving and innovation.
What to expect:
- Professional or business casual attire is strongly encouraged to make a positive first impression.
- Come prepared with a well-crafted resume to share with potential employers.
- Be ready to explore internship, co-op, and full-time opportunities by engaging with recruiters.
Prepare for Success
Before attending a career fair or networking event, it’s important to be well-prepared. Here’s how you can get started:
- Schedule a resume review with a career advisor through Handshake
- Attend mock interviews offered during Career Prep Week or sign up with a company recruiter for practice.
- Complete your Handshake profile, upload your latest resume, and explore positions related to your major.
- Develop your elevator pitch, a 30-second summary of your background, interests, and goals.
- Follow up with recruiters on LinkedIn to build lasting professional relationships.
These small steps can make a huge difference when you’re competing for internships and job offers.
Engineering is not just about technical skills, it’s about collaboration, communication, and connections. Leverage every opportunity to meet people, learn about organizations, and build your future career. We’re here to support you at every step of the journey!
