Summary (What/Why/Coverage)-Main Activities:

Under the general direction of the Continuous Improvement Manager, the Project Engineering Intern supports the development and improvement of project systems and related activities, with a focus on cost reduction, operational efficiency, process flow, and safety.

The intern will gain hands-on experience in project planning, execution, and support within a dynamic engineering environment. This role will assist with various phases of engineering projects while gaining exposure to real-world applications of engineering principles and project management practices

Technical Aptitude

– Demonstrates an understanding of engineering principles and practices, with basic knowledge of

PLC, VFD and HMI programming.

Analytical Thinking

– Apply strong problem-solving skills to analyze issues and support effective solutions.

– Communicates clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.

Team Collaboration

– Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to support project objectives. Initiative and Adaptability

– Takes initiative in completing tasks and actively seeks learning opportunities.

– Adapts effectively to changing priorities and evolving project needs. Software Proficiency

– Demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; AutoCAD and Microsoft Project experience is a plus.

– Understands the importance of safety protocols and applicable regulatory standards.

– Supports efforts to maintain a safe, compliant, and organized work environment.

Key Responsibilities (What/How):

– Support project engineers in the planning, scheduling, and execution of engineering projects.

– Support low- to medium-complexity projects, from detailed planning through execution and final delivery.

– Assist with the development and implementation of manufacturing and building improvements.

– Support pilot tests and prototypes to evaluate equipment applicability and process efficiency.

– Assist in preparing technical documentation, reports, and presentations.

– Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, process, quality, and maintenance, to support project objectives

Physical Demands:

Ability to move safely throughout manufacturing floors, construction sites, and project areas, including walking, standing, and climbing stairs or ladders for extended periods.

Ability to hear alarms, instructions, and workplace communications in noisy environments.

May be required to lift or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds, such as tools, equipment, or samples,

as needed.
